About the founder
Hi, I'm Katherine, founder of Doorways. I'm here to help you become prosperous and live in a place of PLENTY. I come from a blue-collar family and I'm no stranger to struggle #thestruggleisreal. Growing up, I learned that there are the haves and the have notes. I saw those around me going in the same cycle of disaster again and again and I knew if they just were informed, they could avoid a lot of headaches and heartache. This experience inspired me to dedicate my life to seeing more people become not just haves but confident, empowered money managers, homeowners, and consumers. Making their dreams come true.
So, after getting my BA in Business Management from Pepperdine University, I learned everything you need to know to be financially fit - every process, document, loophole, and hoop you may have to jump through. I know what the banks are looking for, I know what the underwriter wants to see, I know how to get your foot in the door of your new home or empowered life. #we'vegotthis
People come to me because they believe in the vision, I hold for them: that you can achieve financial wellness no matter your stage of life, past mistakes, or current lack of knowledge. I have over 10 years of non-profit experience helping people improve their financial situations through vocational rehabilitation, financial counseling and education and I'm here to help you too.
I have adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling Code of Ethics and Conduct. I am also certified with HUD, NeighborWorks America and completed Leadership Development training coursework with the National Community Reinvestment Coalition in Washington, D.C – educating coupled with products and services that affirmative further fair housing.
Through Doorways, you will learn about the real tangible, effective steps that will move you from, "I didn't think I could ever own a home...improve my credit…manage debt…. start my own business…build and ADU…protect my wealth with trust and insurance" to actually being fully educated and empowered homeowner or consumer. Because buying a home and learning about money is really an investment in you. I'm here to help you turn the tides for you if you're headed down the wrong path. To help you start off on the right foot if you are new to managing your money. To be your trusted friend and guide on this journey. My goal is providing the resources you need to shore up the place where you might be vulnerable. I want to help you by addressing your immediate needs first, creating a plan for the future based on your values and dreams and executing that plan with tools and education in the most convenient ways for you.
